News from the Studio - Coming Soon New molds!

16" Big Sisters with New Full Porcelain Body!

New Big Sister all porcelain dolls in the works.  Here is one of the first artist's samples, big sister Brittany,  shown with little sister Nicole.  The 2 dolls are both modeling dresses made by Nedra Newson from her basic 3 Dress Pattern.

http://www.thedollstudio.com/patternskits.html This new doll is so slender that although she is about 16 inches tall she can wear the same size dress as the 12 inch Sweet Petite with a bit of added length at the hemline and sometimes the waistline and sleeves.

There will be 3 heads in the series,  Big Sister Brittany, Shannon and Shanelle.  The new series will soon be released on Expressions Web site.

New Dolly Accessories!

All the dolls are talking about the new books that just arrived from England.
These collectable dolly sized volumes are hand made by
Terry Neville and his family.

http://www.datemanbooks.com/home/index.htm

These books  are reproductions of the original books.  A selection of titles are available from the Dateman web site.  The series of miniature books (Size A) are perfect scale for the 8 inch dolls to hold.

Another larger sizers series called "Through a Dolls  Eyes"  are perfect for the 14 inch dolls. (Note;  There is a size B that are even smaller, doll house size.)

I asked Terry to make a custom size that would be scaled for the 18 inch size dolls.  Molly is enjoying a copy of  the Mother Goose book illustrated by Kate Greenaway.

Then I ask Terry to make a special sized book for the 12 inch dolls.  I ordered  a few titles in this size too.

Finally I had to have some books that were perfectly to scale with the 10-11 inch dolls too.  Here is Little Lou with her cherished copy of Little Women.

Did you know.....
that Little Lou was named after Louisa May Alcott, the author of Little Women.  Actually Her Great Grandma "Grammalou" was named after Louisa May and Little Lou was named after "Grammalou" soooo.....Now she has her very own copy of this very special book.

books, please contact >> dianna@diannaeffner.com

Patterns and kits from Nedra Newson.

Dianna taught a painting seminar in Texas last spring in which we painted the 18 inch all porcelain Portrait #5 as Shirley Temple.  Nedra Newson bumped up her dress pattern to fit the larger doll.  You can find the pattern with completely illustrated instructions and kits to make the dress on Nedra's site.
