News from the Doll Studio!

Vinyl Kits now Available!

Newly released after a long time in the works is Huggy Bear, my first Vinyl baby kit modeled after my Grandson, Levi.  We are having the kits made in Germany with The soft German vinyl that reborners love.

In October I re-borned my first vinyl baby with Debbie Henshaw, re-borning instructor.  We taped the whole precess and are working on editing the series of instructional videos now.  We hope to make that available soon.  I will also be creating the eye painting tutorial, to be released soon after the re-borning  tutorial series with Debbie Henshaw.  More on re-borning to come. ~Pictures

Shown is the Huggy Bear head with painted eyes with a clear cap mohair wig from Kemper.  We will have these wigs available soon.  It's the 12-12 Cassie wig.  I painted the hair on the head shown.  I think it adds to the realism before adding the Kemper wig.  I also trimmed the wig a bit.  These wigs fit Huggy Bear perfectly and are very wispy and realistic.

New Wig Shipment and Dolls for Dolls

We have the Desirée mohair wigs now that fit the 10/11 inch dolls. We replenished our stock of the light red Desiree and now have a pretty shade of Pale Blonde shown on Brooke. We have a few of the Desireee wigs in medium brown and dark brown.

We also replenished our stock of the 4.5 inch size Desiree for the 8 inch series.  We now have plenty of the blonde and light red.  We still have a few of the Dark Brown (nearly black, perfect for Asian) The 4.5 Emily wig in carrot red was also ordered in this shipment.

Little Lou is showing a new wig that we had made for her.  The previous wig used for Little Lou was the Maria style which required some styling to create the bangs.  The new Louisa wig comes with bangs.  We have ordered it in blonde as shown and light brown as shown on Carlie.

Little Lou is holding 2 dolls made from our Press molds.  One is called the Cloth Doll.  She looks a bit like the Italian felt dolls.  The other doll "Dolly Dear" has molded hair and looks a bit like the popular Patsy dolls.

Working with Hearty Clay is fun and challenging.  You can download complete instructions for the cloth doll from Expressions web site.

Note: Hearty Clay is no longer available in the U.S. in colors.  Only the white is being imported from Japan.  I will have to teach how to color the clay.  I hope to do some tutorials on Hearty Clay projects this year.  Hearty Clay still wonderful to work with even if you can only get it in white.  More on HC to come.

Carlie is holding 2 porcelain babies made from our 3 inch infant molds.

Brook is holding porcelain Itty Bitty

Also in this shipment is supply of the blonde Liza wig shown on Portrait 5.  Note how, with a radical hair cut,  this wig is transformed to a perfect little Shirley Temple wig.

Even More Exciting News!

A new portrait series in the works!  American Kidz Portrait Series.  #1 to be released in the near future.  We can honestly claim that these American Kidz are actually made in the USA!  They will be lovingly created in American doll studios, unless of course, they are lovingly created by one of our out-of-the-country artisans.   Our great grandmothers played with porcelain dolls, why not our granddaughters?  The porcelain play doll is back.  Let's inform the world that porcelain is not a fragile as might be assumed.  With a little loving care it can last a lifetime and longer.  Let's  put these keepsake kidz in the arms those special young collectors, precious heirlooms to have and hold for a lifetime.

American Kidz, 19 inch dolls with pose-able bodies.  Coming Soon!
