April, Brooke, Carly and Their Dollies.

10/11 inch April Brooke and Carly.

April Brooke and Carly have been reduced to the smaller size.  The small April was introduced earlier this summer.

Brooke is shown holding Itty Bitty, Expressions smallest all porcelain baby mold set.  This tiny doll uses the same arms and legs as the 3 inch all porcelain babies.  She has her own dress pattern, a darling sun dress, bonnet and sandals shown with Allison.  http://www.expressionsdolls.com/images/allisonad.jpg

Carly is shown holding the two 3 inch babies.  The small Christening gown pattern by Lana Dobbs is also available.

Annabelle, Babette and Corrina

These little ones are fun and easy to make.  They are 6 inches long, sized to go with your 18 inch portrait dolls.   They are not new molds but have not been featured on the web site before. Remember little Annabelle Dressed as a bunny, a mouse and a bear?

These dolls have a simple little bean bag type of body.  The Annabelle mold set comes with little hands.  The full arm mold came later along with 2 new heads, Babette and Corrina also sold separately.  The  Christening Gown pattern by Nedra Newson is available from Expressions. More About Annabelle, Babbette & Corinna >>

I'd Rather Be Stamping
by Dianna Effner

Every summer for the past several years I have attended the Craft and Hobby Association Show (CHA)  which is a huge wholesale trade show for venders of craft supplies. All the big companies and hundreds of small ones display and demonstrate their latest products there.  It is a place where a creative person can discover wonderful new products to incorporate into the creative process.  That's where I discovered Hearty Clay and Copic Markers.  This summer I went on a quest to find stamping inks that would work for fabric.  I also discovered some stamps that I really love.  I have been having tooooo much fun playing with these along with the iron on transfer paper, markers and fabric dyes.  I have a show to get ready for and other projects that need my attention but I am having a hard time tearing myself away from the costume workshop projects involving these new techniques. I intend to share the fun with other doll makers when I get the project plans worked out.  After a live workshop in Texarkana next month, I want to organize the material to offer a workshop that you can get on-line.  I have had several requests for doll kits and/or patterns and plans from doll makers already.  If you would be interested in this please get in touch with us.  Also watch for announcements on the web site.

Costume Design Workshop at Mystic Molds

All day Saturday  October 16th     http://www.mysticmolds.com/doll_show_seminars.html

There is still room in the live workshop in Texarkana.  You can bring your own doll or buy one of ours.  We are working on the Sweet Petite bodies.  Someone requested the Booboo instead.  We are willing to prepare the bisque for a custom doll of your choice if we have notice very soon.  We can do Booboo, the 8 inch series like Penny,  the 10-11 inch all porcelain body, like Little Lou,  Wednesdays Child like Allison, or the Sweet Petites.  These ready to paint dolls will have had a wash applied.  The bodies will be assemble and the dolls mounted on a wooden stand.  The head is attached in such a way that it can be removed and painted after the workshop. All bodies including wooden stand are $75 except the Sweet Petite body which is $85

Demos at the Mystic Mold show

I will be in the booth at the Mystic Mold Show on Friday to demo and chat about doll making.  I am planning to bring supplies to demonstrate re-borning Porcelain Babies.  I am still hoping to teach this at some point but I am still in learning mode myself.  There is a lot to learn and a lot of trial and error to do. Maybe this show will help get this ball rolling.

I will also demonstrate press molds for Hearty Clay.

Hope to see you there!

Doll Expo

Dianna will be showing and selling dolls at the Modern Doll Convention/Expo in Winston-Salem  North Carolina, October 1st-3rd. This show is open to the public all 3 days.  Other members of the Doll Dreamers' Society and the Doll Dreamers' Guild will be there sharing the show table and the fun.  Come and join us!
