Coming Soon!!  New Doll Sculpt and New Pattern Book

Dianna has sculpted an adorable 8 inch all porcelain doll.   Her name is Penny. She will be available soon. Collectors will love this little doll.

Londie Phillips has written a book of patterns for storybook doll costumes.  Several of Dianna's dolls are featured in the book.  Penny is shown modeling a Heidi costume from the book.

Reborning Porcelain

Dianna has been experimenting with painting techniques used by the reborn artist and has found a way to apply them to porcelain.  She has also found a way to apply mohair that looks very realistic.  She would like to share her techniques in an on-line class which will be available this spring.  Watch for it! There will be an introductory course using the 9 inch dolls Tiny or Chelsea.

Doll Costuming/Crafting Article

Did you happen to catch the Article about Dianna Effner in the February Issue of Doll Crafter?  The magazine is featuring long time artists to commemorate 25 years that the magazine has been in existence.  The article is Called Dianna Effner Proponent of Porcelain. There are some good pictures of classic and new dolls. Color Choices in Eye Painting
Remember, the secret to 3 dimensional shading is having dark, medium and light values of color. So when we paint the iris of the eye we can work with 3 different shades of color or we sometimes use 2 shades and blend them for a third shade.
